Advocacy Committee Member

Anthony is a senior Instrumental Music Education student at the Florida State University College of Music. His primary instrument is flute and studies within the studio of Professor Eva Amsler and Dr. Karen Large. Anthony has been playing flute since the sixth grade and attributes his love for music education to the positive experiences that he had at a young age. Anthony is currently serving as the President of the FSU NAfME Collegiate chapter as well as on other executive boards across different organizations on campus as he enjoys getting involved and building community.

Karina Franco 

Committee Member

Karina Franco is a junior at the
University of South Florida, majoring in
music education with a minor in
psychology. Her primary instrument is
saxophone. In addition to the FL NAfME
Collegiate advocacy committee, she
serves as the Advocacy Chair at USF.
After graduation, she plans on teaching
middle school band for a couple of years
before getting a masters in Music
Therapy. “My favorite thing about
advocacy is the community we reach out
to and aid during the school year."

Sawyer Perry

Advocacy Committee Member

Sawyer Perry is a junior at Florida State
University, majoring in instrumental
music education. His primary instrument
is saxophone. In addition to serving on
the FL NAfME Collegiate Advocacy
Committee, he is the advocacy chair for
FSU’s collegiate chapter. Upon
graduation, Sawyer hopes to teach
middle or high school band. “My favorite
thing is showing people that music is for
everyone. We can all participate and
benefit from music.”

Gina Rand

Advocacy Committee Member

Gina Rand is a junior at the University of
South Florida, majoring in music
education with a minor in science of
physical activity. She is a clarinetist, who
plans on returning to Palm Beach
County to teach middle or high school
band after graduating. "I love being able
to spread awareness of the importance
of as well as the benefits of having an
education in music!"
